In Maui, Hawaii there’s a surfing spot & swell they call Jaws. East of Hookipa is the infamous surf spot that produces monster waves and attracts big wave surfers from all over the world.
Generated by winter storm swells travelling over a barrier reef, Jaws can sometimes create 12-21 metre (40-70 foot) monster waves. To produce enough speed to surf these treacherous waves, pro tow-in surfers are literally towed-into the breaking waves by jet skis.

This season has just started and the amazing videographers at ACL Productions have made a short film to capture the start of this years big waves.

These guys are a little nuts, but so amazing to watch.
